How to Order Flooring

  1. Use the Quick Guide and add the options for Material, Top Surface, Treatment/Colours, and Panel Size (if required)
    or
Choose a pattern and a Load Bar from the Load Deflection Table.
  2. Panel Size Suffix sholud be stated only if you want a stock panel.
  3. For example, A325MPU2 for an untreated stock panel 1200 x 6000.
For fabricated grating the code would read A325MPU.
  4. Specify whether the grating is to be Banded or Cut to Size Only by referring to the terminology
  5. Nominate the number of panenls required and provide dimensions for width and span of each panel.
Span is alwasy the last dimension
  6. Where large floor areas are required provide a drawing of the area to be covered showing:
    • Dimensions.
    • Span.
    • Section size
    • Location and direction of support steel
    • Location and size of cut-outs and removable areas.
    • Indicate if penetrations are required to be split
  7. Specify fastener type if required

Span Direction

  • Grating and expanded metal have to be supported in a specific way. The direction that the load bars run is the important direction fgor grating and is referred t oas the span.
  • For expanded metal the span is in the direction of the strands or Long Way Mesh (LWM).
  • Span is always the last dimension given when referencing a panel size.
  • Grating and expanded metal have to be supported 90° to the span direction and do not require support on the other sides.

Example:
Shown here with standard panel widths of 995mm. Platform made in standard stock width panels plus a make-up panel cut to the nearest load bar. The balance allows for gaps up to 10mm between panels.
