What are the differences between Monowills handrails vs Monowills Link?
Handrail manufacturing from businesses that do not have the infrastructure or assembly support to help you complete the project at hand can be a frustrating matter — especially on tight deadlines. Our Monowills Link TM and handrails not only meet industry standards and ready-to-assemble parts but come with a team ready to support you to put together and install the final product.
This blog will cover the differences between Monowills Link and handrails by Webforge, review their applications and explore the safety standards we follow to ensure a full-service experience.
Monowills handrails and links explained
Highlighted in Quarry's November 2020 blog, Monowills handrails and link is a product we manufacture in-house that comes delivered ready to install — all we need are the material specifications and layout drawings of the project to get started.
Where other businesses only offer the materials, we supply both hardware and 75+ years of manufacturing and installation experience. We work directly with our casting suppliers to ensure each deliverable is compliant and safe for public use.
But what's the difference between Link and handrails?
MonowillsTM Link Modular Railing system requires no welding or specialty tools for installation because we use TORX stainless steel grub screws to secure the railing together. TORX grub screws are resistant to corrosion and vandalism, which can wear over time. This type of screw uses self-driving screw mechanisms to drive the fastener into place — making it virtually vibration resistant as well.
Without welding on-site, there is greater flexibility for alterations when necessary. Not every project is perfect or needs change — the Monowills Link systems offer room for adjustments when the occasion arises.
MonowillsTM Tubular Barrier & Stanchion Systems offers a unique design that is ready to be picked, packed and shipped directly to your worksite. The difference between our Link option and our barrier solutions is in the installation method. Our Monowills handrails require welding on-site. However, the parts of the handrail are manufactured to be lightweight and easy to deliver and install.
You can request any of the following components depending on your project needs:
- Stanchions
- Rails
- Bends
- Kickplates
- Grating
- Stair treads
You have access to a number of materials and installation designs because, although we offer ready-to-use options for economic efficiency, unique projects may also call to manufacture custom systems. From hand-picked designs to standard goods, you can use Monowills products across an array of applications.
Handrail and link applications
What's made Monowills handrails and links gain popularity is not only its easy installation and delivery but the many applications for the material. They come in both standard and heavy-duty systems using mild steel or aluminium to suit your budget and environmental needs.
We offer the following applications for our barriers:
- Standard Barrier and Stanchions
- Jumbo Barrier (larger diameter pipes)
- Balustrade Systems
- Gates, Kick Plate, etc.
- Safety Rails for Disability Applications
You'll find that both handrails and Links have a place in industrial, commercial, municipal or general applications.
Safety requirements we follow for handrails and links
Both the Links and barrier solutions are manufactured to meet Australian safety standards. Webforge Monowills system can be configured and applied to meet the following common Australian and New Zealand standards:
- AS/NZS 1657 - Fixed Platforms, walkways, stairways and ladders
- NCC - National Construction Code
- AS/NZS 1428 - Design for Access and Mobility
- AS/NZS 2156 - Walking Tracks Infrastructure Design
We follow these standards closely and design each set of handrails accordingly.
We've put in the hard work necessary to design, manufacture and independently test all of our materials to align with safety standards so they're ready for your next project. Monowills Link and handrails offer full barrier solutions tailored precisely to your project needs.
